On 25th April 2025, we had the honor of hosting Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Anantrao Pawar and PCMC Municipal Commissioner Mr. Shekhar Singh at the Dapodi Lighthouse Centre. Their visit highlighted the impact of the Kaushalyam initiative in supporting youth from underserved communities.
Mr. Singh introduced Hon. Pawar to Kaushalyam, an initiative of Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF) and PCMC, which provides free skilling, career guidance, and life skills training to empower youth from underserved communities, helping them secure sustainable livelihoods and bridging the gap between talent and industry. During the visit, Mr. Singh commended our industry-relevant training approach, while Hon. Pawar witnessed transformation through alumni stories. They toured the courses offered, planted a sapling symbolizing growth, and discussed expanding Lighthouse to Mumbai & Baramati — bringing hope to more youth.
Amruta Bahulekar, Chief Program Officer (CPO) of Lighthouse Communities Foundation, shared inspiring stories of impact, highlighting how the Lighthouse model has helped thousands of youth become confident, job-ready, and self-reliant. Each skilled youth represents a family lifted out of poverty, a community strengthened, and a brighter future for our nation. Across India, Lighthouse has skilled 43,800+ youth, and 33,700+ have secured sustainable livelihoods—many as their family’s first formal-sector earners.
