Jaspreet is a 20-year-old girl from the PhD Road Barbil slum. She lost her father early. Because of this, life became hard for her family. She lived with her mother and younger sister. So, they ran a small shop to earn money.

Jaspreet passed Class 12 in Arts. However, she did not know what to do next. She wanted a steady job. But, she did not know where to start. So, she waited for guidance.

Then, she heard about Barbil Lighthouse from an outreach worker. After that, she joined the Lighthouse Foundation Course. She joined Batch 24 on 18 March 2024. At first, she was eager to learn. Still, she needed clear advice.

At Lighthouse, she got the right help. Also, the classes were easy to follow. She gave small talks and did group work. Because of this, she became more sure of herself. Slowly, she began to see her strengths.

After the course, Jaspreet chose hotel work training. So, she joined Tata Strive Bhubaneswar SDI. There, she learned how to deal with guests and work in a team.

Today, Jaspreet works as a Guest Service Associate at K S Bakers in Hyderabad. Now, she earns ₹14,000 per month. Because of this job, she can help her family.
