At just 20, Megha had already faced storms that would test anyone’s spirit. Her father, a soldier, laid down his life for the nation. Soon after, her mother lost her battle with cancer, leaving Megha and her younger brother to face life’s hardships alone. Her brother’s modest earnings as a yoga teacher barely kept them afloat, while a heavy loan from their father’s time weighed heavily on their shoulders.
Yet Megha refused to give up. After completing her Arts degree in 2024, she was determined to build a better life, for herself and for her brother. That’s when she found Barbil Lighthouse, a safe space of hope and opportunity.
Through the Foundation Course and Trends Matrix activities, Megha discovered her strengths and, for the first time, a clear career direction. The Job Preparedness Course polished her confidence, and with the support and mentoring she received at the Lighthouse, Megha secured a job as a Counter Executive.
Her journey is a testament that no storm lasts forever. With courage, guidance, and opportunity, even the darkest nights lead to dawn.
This transformation has been made possible through the partnership of the SBI Foundation and Lighthouse Communities Foundation. Together, we are not just skilling youth, we are igniting hope, building resilience, and creating pathways for young people like Megha to step into brighter, dignified futures.
