In the heart of Rajendra Nagar, Lucknow, Ishika Gupta grew up witnessing two different worlds. One side of her neighborhood was filled with large bungalows, while the other was home to families like hers, working hard to make ends meet. Her father runs a small general store, earning a modest monthly income of 12000 to support Ishika, her mother, and her younger sister. Despite the financial constraints, Ishika remained determined, eventually graduating in Arts in 2025.
However, Ishika faced a significant hurdle: a lack of confidence and hesitation in speaking with others. Her journey changed when she discovered the ITC Mission Sunehra Kal Skill Development Programme implemented by Lighthouse Communities Foundation. Through the Foundation course, she participated in activities like Pecha Kucha and teamwork games that helped her shed her fears. She also mastered digital tools and improved her spoken English, preparing her for the professional world.
Ishika transformed from a hesitant student into a skilled professional. Today, she is an Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Intern at DeedOK IT Solutions. This role is more than just a job; it is the first step toward a dignified life for her entire family. Ishika is now proving that with the right guidance, any dream is achievable.
