We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of Samantarapur Lighthouse – the 3rd in Bhubaneswar, 8th in Odisha, and 48th in India. This milestone has been achieved through the collaborative efforts of the Housing & Urban Development Department (HUDD), Government of Odisha, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), and Lighthouse Communities Foundation (LCF).
The Lighthouse will be a vibrant space for learning and growth for youth aged 18–35 from Samantarapur, Old Town, and nearby areas. With classrooms for Foundation Course, including digital literacy, English communication, career counselling and free skilling courses, it will nurture agency building and open pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
Since 2022, over 6,000 youth in Odisha have completed the Foundation Course and 3,000+ secured jobs. With Samantarapur, we take one more step towards ensuring that every young person has the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive.
