Growing up in a slum in Atali village, Ambivili, Akash carried a weight most 24-year-olds never know. With an unemployed father, a homemaker mother, and a younger brother preparing for government exams, he was the only one bringing home a salary.
With a graduation degree, he worked at a local hotel for just ₹10,000 a month. That was all standing between his family and a financial crisis.
Then a friend told him about Ambivili Lighthouse. Akash joined the Foundation Course and things began to change. The Diamond in Life activity helped him see his family not as a burden but as his greatest strength. Digital skills, Spoken English sessions, and mock interviews slowly replaced self-doubt with something powerful: confidence.
Today, Akash is an Associate at Janasahas NGO in Ambernath, earning ₹18,000. That is an 80% jump in income. But more than the salary, he has gained clarity, purpose, and a future he can finally believe in.
Thank you, Wells Fargo, for supporting Ambivili Lighthouse and enabling youth like Akash to build their future.
