On 31st January, the Odisha Lighthouse team and Bhubaneswar Municipality hosted a crucial meeting with corporators to discuss the impact of the Lighthouse program on community reformation and livelihood generation. Under the chairmanship of Addl. Commissioner Shri Lakshmikant Sethi, 44 corporators attended the meeting and engaged in a lively Q&A session with the team.
Since June 2022, 335 urban disadvantaged youth have enrolled in the Lighthouse Foundation Course, ensuring they are job-ready.
Currently, 151 students are enrolled in 12 skilling programs and 70+ students have already been placed! With courses ranging from Office Management to Digital Marketing, Lighthouse is empowering the youth to earn livelihood in a dignified way in the formal sector.
Lighthouse is a part of the Government of Odisha’s Jaga Mission phase three, supported by JSP Foundation, and runs full-time batches and fast-track courses, completely free of cost, including Spoken English and Digital Literacy.
The orientation with corporators was a step towards reaching out to more urban underserved youth and giving them a chance to brighten their future. We thank the corporators for all their support.
