For Vandana, age is just a number. Married at 21 and raising three kids, she subsided her dream of starting her own business. But at the age of 51, she realized that now is the time to take the step!
Before joining the Lighthouse, Vandana had completed a Food Processing course from Industrial Training Institute (I.T.I.), Aundh, but she lacked the support and knowledge to do something independently. The Lighthouse gave her a platform to organize her ideas and kick-off her business.
She started by making snacks and executing orders for small gatherings. Once confident about her cooking skills, she thought of using homemade masala, just like her mother used to. Slowly and steadily, her homemade masala became popular, and she managed to start supplying them under the name “Malhaar Foods” (Malhaar foods)
Once hesitant to speak to new people, she has now bagged many awards and aspires to grow as an entrepreneur, for which she joined the Junoon program to learn how to run a successful business.
