International Nurses Day is a day that honors the contribution and dedication of nurses around the world. These healthcare professionals work tirelessly to provide compassionate care to patients and support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. On this occasion, it’s essential to recognize and appreciate the hard work and sacrifices made by nurses.
At Lighthouse, we understand the importance of nursing and healthcare professionals, and we are committed to providing opportunities for individuals interested in pursuing a career in this field. As part of our efforts, we offer many skilling courses for free, including nursing courses. So far, 720 students have enrolled in our nursing skilling courses, and we are proud to have played a part in preparing them for a successful career in nursing.
One of the success stories that we are delighted to share on this occasion is that of Rani Bhondawe. Despite facing many challenges early in her life, Rani’s determination and resilience never wavered. She always had a dream of improving her life and the lives of her family members, and she decided to pursue education to achieve her goals.
Rani started her journey as a domestic worker, but her unwavering spirit pushed her to seek further education. After hearing about the Lighthouse from her friends, she decided to enroll in our Foundation course. After completing the course, Rani opted for our Nursing Assistant program, which proved to be a turning point in her career. This program provided her with the skills and knowledge necessary to move from being a domestic worker to a healthcare professional.
Rani’s dedication and hard work paid off when she secured a job as a Nursing Assistant. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rani continued to upgrade her skills by enrolling in the Nursing Care course at Pulse Hospital, demonstrating her commitment to her profession and patients. Rani’s compassionate care for her patients soon led to new opportunities, and she began receiving calls for personal care. Not only did this triple her income, but it also allowed her to provide care to people in the comfort of their homes.
Rani’s story is a perfect example of the transformative power of education and the impact of determination and hard work. It highlights the importance of skilling courses and the opportunities they offer to people who want to pursue a career in nursing or healthcare. As we celebrate International Nurses Day, let us appreciate the contribution of nurses to our society and encourage more people to pursue careers in nursing and healthcare. And, we at Lighthouse will continue to support individuals in their journey to success.
